What’s Your Story?
I want to know.
Who you are.
Your first bra. Why you have that tattoo of Gene Wilder on your bum. How you overcame life threatening illness. How dressing up as chipmunk makes you feel sexy. Whatever it is.
And I don’t want none of that perfect Pinterest business (I love Pinterest, but…). And not ninety-five selfies until you reach that impossibly flawless angle that doesn’t know anything about the actual you.
In fact, I don’t want to see you at all. I want to know you. Tell me. All the good stuff.
Maybe it’s a personal transformation. I’m well up for some inspired content for sure.
Or something you’re really self conscious about. The jiggles you hate and the nobbles that make you hide.
Or, if you’ve had some sort of cosmetic surgery, I want to know what compelled you to make that decision and what sort of impact it has had.
Do you challenge gender norms? Social standards? Awesome.
I want all that; the weird and wonderful, what the heck version of life. Your motives. Your flaws. Your fears. You. In all your flesh and glory. Give it to me straight.
I’m sure you’re probably thinking, why on earth would I ever do that? In a world where we all get vilified for the slightest imperfection, the least bit of cellulite, and the faintest of double chins. On a planet where trolls malign the world with their pointless hostility, I can see why putting yourself out there sounds like the worst sort of idea you’ve heard all day. Or ever.
You don’t have to contribute if you don’t want to. That’s cool. Honestly. I get it.
But it’d be swell if you did.
I’ve given you the option to be as anonymous as you like. And comments can go blow one, because they won’t be open for business when you share.
But do send me your story.
How you wore red lipstick on your first date and it got all over your teeth and you didn’t know till it was much, much too late.
How you used to steal your sister’s foundation that was actually three shades too dark for you.
How you’ve been dressing up as a latex doll in secret for years.
But if you don’t post in any way, let me just encourage you to open your mind to the concept, privately, and allow the freedom of it to fill you, because that’s really the objective here (creating a beautiful mindset).
You are what you believe. And if you believe in your own beauty, then no one can take that from you.
Here’s the deal:
Send me your story. Be you. Be real. You can put your name and email, but you don’t have to. I just want to know what motivated you and why you’re here with us. But the strong silent types are totally welcome, too, so just jump on board and sail with us.
I get lots of stories coming in, so I can’t post them all, but you never know. Blow my mind and we’ll see where you get to.
I will not publish your personal information. If you provide your email, that is consent that you don’t mind hearing from me personally, but I will not send it along to Creepy Joe. Promise.
Here’s the proviso:
I’m keeping the door to comments closed in this section. This is for self publication only – no judgements. Opinions and complaints can be placed in a bottle and sent out to sea, to the salty depths, where they belong.
Can’t wait to hear from you. Much love, babies. xx
